2026 Access Control Measures
Effective January 21, 2026, the use of EmoryCards will be required for entry to all exterior doors of academic and office buildings on the Atlanta and Oxford campuses. The Atlanta campus bookstore, Cox Hall Market, and the Carlos Museum will not require card access during normal business hours.
Please remember to always carry your EmoryCard with you. We cannot guarantee members of our community will be able to enter buildings if don’t have their EmoryCard.
If your EmoryCard is not working, please contact the card office here.
If you are experiencing problems after normal business hours and are locked out, please contact Emory Police at 404-727-6111. Please know you may be asked to provide identification or other proof of your affiliation with Emory.
Replacement Fees have been waived for the period between January 15 and February 13, 2026.
Our community will continue to follow Emory’s standard procedure for reserving space on campus for an event. To address access concerns, please submit a work order. Please note this site requires an Emory login.
All public-facing buildings will continue to have options for ADA-accessible entrances.
We appreciate wanting to be considerate to others, but we request that all members of our community remain vigilant when entering and exiting buildings. Everyone must carry their EmoryCard with them at all times. We ask that you not hold open doors or press the button for disabled access unless that need exists.
Yes. Your EmoryCard is the official university ID card, and it enables you to have secure, convenient and efficient access to events, goods and services, as well as an identity tool for the safety and security of our campus. As you travel around campus, your EmoryCard should be in your possession at all times.
Per university policy, you must present your EmoryCard upon request to any university official. The card is non-transferable and is property of Emory University. The hosts of invited guests may be asked to provide their university identification, and some buildings may only be accessible by EmoryCard access.
