EmoryCards for Visitors


Cards for Alumni, Retirees, Contractors, and Guests of Emory University

Visitor Accounts

Contractors, research assistants, and other applicable visitors who are not active Emory employees or students may be sponsored by a University faculty or staff member to obtain an EmoryCard.

Please visit the Office of Information Technology (OIT) help desk website to submit a Sponsored Account Request.

  1. Navigate to the Service Desk and log in with your Net ID and Password.
  2. Under Self Service, click Service Request Catalog.
  3. Under Network Account, click Sponsored Account Request. Complete the form by entering all the requested information about the individual being sponsored. 
  4. The sponsor will receive a confirmation email once the account has been created. After receipt of confirmation, complete the online EmoryCard Sponsored Account Request Form. Photo of sponsored individual is required. For guidelines, please see EmoryCard Photo Upload Guide.
  5. Upon receipt of confirmation from the EmoryCard Team that the Sponsored Account has been created, then the sponsored individual may pick up their card:
    1. Atlanta Campus  - Schedule an appointment or visit during regular business hours
    2. Oxford Campus  - Visit Seney Hall, Room 107 during regular business hours  (Beginning Monday, July 1, 2024)

Congratulations! Please follow the steps outlined below to obtain your official Alumni EmoryCard and to have it activated. Please direct questions about activation to emorycard@emory.edu

Due to various internal processes:

  • Recent Spring Graduates cannot activate an Alumni Card until the following February
  • Recent Summer/Fall Graduates cannot activate an Alumni Card until the following July


STEP 1: Request an Alumni EmoryCard from Alumni Association

STEP 2: Complete the Official EmoryCard Alumni EmoryCard Activation Request Form

STEP 3: Await email from the EmoryCard team confirming that your account has been created. Account creation may take 48 hours or more after submission.

STEP 4: Upon receipt of confirmation, schedule an appointment or visit the EmoryCard office during regular business hours to have your mailed Alumni EmoryCard linked to the created account.



NOTE: If you have not completed the steps as outlined above your appointment will be cancelled.

If you are only wanting access to the Emory University Library database system, please visit the Emory University Libraries website. 

Congratulations! Our team offers retiree card pick-up to those employees who have fully retired from the University ONLY. Please follow the steps outlined below to obtain your official Retiree EmoryCard. NOTE: EmoryCard is not authorized to issue retiree cards to former Healthcare employees. Please direct questions to emorycard@emory.edu

STEP 1:  Upload your photo and an image of your government issued photo identification.

NOTE: Photos must be in a .jpg file format, at least 512 x 512 pixels in size, and should be similar to a standard US passport photo. Selfies in front of a blank white wall are acceptable. There should be no other plants, objects, or persons in the photo, and no masks, sunglasses or hats should be worn.

STEP 2: After your photo has been approved, schedule an appointment or visit the EmoryCard office during regular business hours to have your EmoryCard printed. 


NOTE: If your HR record does not indicate that you have fully retired, or you have not completed the steps as outlined above your appointment will be cancelled.

Visitors temporarily residing in Guest Housing will receive a room key and a housing access card upon their arrival and check-in at the Clairmont Service Center located in the Tower Building at 2425 Dooley Dr. Decatur, GA 30033.  For more details, contact Guest Housing at 404-727-8830.

University Affiliates and Researchers residing in Guest Housing are required to obtain the Official University photo identification card, EmoryCard, for access. Please speak with your department supervisor for details.

Visitors attending a summer camp and residing in Emory University Housing will receive a wristband (or temporary access card) programmed specifically for their length of stay to be used for both access and meal plans (if provided). Attendees are responsible for their wristband/card throughout the duration of their stay and will be deactivated upon check-out. If the wristband/card is lost during your time on campus, please contact the Main Conference Line at 404-727-0427 or visit the University Housing office located in Raoul Hall at 2 Eagle Row, Atlanta, GA 30322.
