Official Emory ID

The EmoryCard is the official Emory University ID for students, faculty, and staff members.

Schools manage the EmoryCard application process for incoming students and campus departments do so for new employees. As part of this process, new students and employees are asked to upload their photos online as outlined below.

Visit our website's Use Your EmoryCard section to learn more about how to add Eagle Dollars to your account and where you can spend them.

Be Prepared

Prior to submitting a photo, please be sure to read the instructions and photo guidelines carefully on what is required for the photo before uploading it – it’s as easy as taking a selfie against a plain, solid, white background! If you do not follow the photo guidelines it will not work, and you will have to try again.

Select a clear, high-resolution, digital color photo of yourself with these guidelines in mind:

  • Head shot of you facing the camera, with eyes open and visible
  • A plain, solid, white background, without other people or objects
  • No hats, no masks, sunglasses, glare on glasses, clothing that obscures the face, or shadows across your face or in the background
  • Photo file in JPG/JPEG format, at least 432 x 432 pixels in dimension, with a maximum size of 6MB

Photos that do not meet the specified criteria will be rejected. See sample images:

Prior to arriving on campus, all new students are required to upload a photo using MyPhoto for approval and EmoryCard production.

Incoming students who neglect to do upload a photo successfully prior to arrival will face delays in access to campus buildings, meal plans, and more.

Each school/program has its own submission deadline that is based on its orientation schedule. Be sure to check the deadline date listed in your orientation packet as it may differ from the general dates listed below.
